Vote For NPP To Break The ‘8’ To Transform Educational Sector- Adutwum
Minister for Education, Yaw Osei Adutwum, is urging Ghanaians to support the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for an additional four years to fully realize its ambitious plans for the education sector.
Speaking at the African Skill Summit, Adutwum stressed the importance of continuing the government’s innovative programs aimed at modernizing Technical and Vocational Education and Training (T-VET).
He highlighted the necessity for Ghana’s T-VET sector to shift towards innovation and local production of equipment rather than just maintenance of foreign-made machinery, using Germany’s successful T-VET approach as a model.
Adutwum underscored the significance of integrating STEM education with practical training for transformative impact, suggesting a reevaluation of the perception that T-VET is primarily for less academically inclined individuals.
To achieve this, he announced plans to introduce technical courses in prominent schools and emphasized the importance of effective promotion to attract more students to T-VET programs.
Adutwum, instrumental in the implementation of free senior high school education under the NPP government, believes that another term is necessary to build upon these achievements and fully transform the educational landscape.
