Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah steps down from his role as Angel Morning Show Host

Ghanaian media personality, Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah, has declared that he will step down from his role as the Morning Show Host at Angel Broadcasting Network (ABN), with his last day set for January 8, 2024.

In a Facebook update, Afrifa-Mensah mentioned that his resignation stems from a lack of alignment in interests between himself and the company’s leadership.

“I am stepping down as the morning show host at Angel Broadcasting Network, effective immediately.”

“This choice was influenced by differing interests between the company’s management and myself,” he noted.

Afrifa-Mensah thanked ABN and the people of Ghana for the chance to work with them.

He also reassured his supporters and relatives that he would announce his future plans shortly.

“I appreciate the chance to contribute to ABN and serve the Ghanaian people. To all my fans and family, I will inform you of my next steps soon,” he said.

This announcement follows December speculation regarding Afrifa-Mensah’s alleged firing from Angel TV, although both Afrifa-Mensah and Angel Broadcasting Network (ABN) did not provide official confirmation.

Afrifa-Mensah, recognized for his candid style on the morning program “Anɔpa Bɔfoɔ,” has frequently stirred controversy.

His remarks regarding several prominent figures, such as Prophet Opambour and Nuumo Gborbu Wulomo-Shitse, the leader of the Gadangme State, ignited backlash and calls for an apology, which he declined, intensifying the situation.
