“You are advised to support the NPP government,” Education Minister Napo tells Pantang trainee nurses
The Pantang Psychiatric Hospital in the Greater Accra Region was bustling with energy and commotion on Thursday as Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Vice-Presidential Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), recently met with healthcare professionals as part of his campaign efforts to show support for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is running for president in the December 7 election.
Scores of health workers welcomed the NPP running mate with enthusiastic cheers, songs, and chants as he engaged with both staff and trainees.
This visit occurred after a prior meeting with Dr. Opoku Prempeh, known as “Napo,” engaged with nursing trainees and health workers at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra on Wednesday.
Addressing the crowd at Pantang, Napo advised the nurses and trainees to avoid supporting John Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) due to concerns that an NDC administration may eliminate nursing trainee allowances.
Napo highlighted the NPP’s dedication to enhancing healthcare and increasing job opportunities for health workers throughout Ghana. He assured that a Bawumia-led NPP government would create more employment opportunities for health professionals through the government’s Agenda 111 initiative, involving the establishment of new hospitals nationwide.
Napo encouraged nurses and health workers to overwhelmingly vote for Dr. Bawumia. Bawumia and the NPP are dedicated to advancing healthcare progress.
Robert Lamptey, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Madina, addressed trainee nurses and health workers in the region, pledging better living conditions and increased hostel facilities for healthcare trainees in the Madina vicinity. He urged health workers to support and vote for Dr. Bawumia. Bawumia and endorse his bid, assuring that their well-being will be a focal point in an NPP government.
With pledges on healthcare facilities, employment opportunities, and student stipends, the NPP is gaining backing from healthcare professionals nationwide as the December election approaches.
