Wontumi issues another threat towards Kofi Boakye
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, has issued a second warning to retired Commissioner of Police (COP) Nathan Kofi Boakye in anticipation of the 2024 general elections.
He has expressed concerns about alleged plans by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to incite violence during the elections. Chairman Wontumi has cautioned that any acts of violence, such as gunshots to disrupt the electoral process and endanger lives, will result in COP Kofi Boakye being expelled from the Ashanti Region.
He has assured that NPP supporters will take action against those attempting to cause chaos during the elections. Wontumi has stated that individuals being influenced by the NDC to engage in violent behavior should abandon such efforts, as they will not succeed.
Kofi Boakye previously held the position of Chief of Police (COP) at this location, however, I presented him with a minor revelation. That man is a destabilizing force to the nation. All individuals who have been hired should be aware that the firing of a single gunshot will result in Kofi Boakye being expelled from the Ashanti Region.
“On December 7, 2024, following the casting of your ballot, please remain at the polling station and do not depart.” “If individuals on motorcycles approach with the intent to incite violence, respond accordingly,” declared Chairman Wontumi at a campaign rally.
This marks the second instance in which Wontumi has issued a warning to the retired COP, previously stating his intention to arrest him under citizen’s arrest should he be implicated in instigating election-related violence.
