Bawumia declares his commitment to inclusive development for all

The Vice President and Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia emphasized his commitment to implementing inclusive policies to benefit every Ghanaian. During his campaign tour of the Volta Region on October 20, 2024, in Hohoe, he reiterated this core principle of inclusive governance.

Bawumia stated that his fundamental ideology aligns with the NPP’s established history of advocating for comprehensive development that benefits all citizens. “I believe in fostering inclusive development for everyone,” Dr. Bawumia expressed. Bawumia stated.

Dr. During his tenure as Vice President, Bawumia has been guided by the philosophy of aiding the President in implementing transformative policies that have had a positive impact on the lives of Ghanaians. “I have served as Vice President for the past eight years.”

In my role as Vice President, I have collaborated closely with the President. My approach centers on comprehensive development, reflected in the policies we have enacted during the past eight years.

Bawumia addressed Chiefs, the Clergy, Imams, and prominent stakeholders in the Hohoe Constituency. During his address, Bawumia highlighted various inclusive policies he has supported the President in implementing, such as the Free SHS policy.

He emphasized the significant impact of this policy, noting that it has benefited over 5 million individuals. “In our 2016 campaign, we pledged to introduce numerous policies to the people of Ghana.”

“The primary commitment we prioritized was the implementation of tuition-free SHS education in Ghana,” he stated. “Despite skepticism from some, we remained resolute in fulfilling our pledge of free SHS education.”

It was claimed to be a 419 offer by them. “It was mentioned that it was deemed not feasible.” Thanks to divine intervention, this has been achievable.

For the past eight years, we have executed the Free SHS initiative, allowing 5.7 million children to attend school without cost. This is unprecedented. This is a significant historical event.

Dr. Bawumia highlighted a range of comprehensive initiatives that he has been involved in as Vice President.

These include enhancements in healthcare with the provision of ambulances to all constituencies, the establishment of Agenda 111 hospitals in areas lacking medical facilities, assistance to students and teachers through computer distribution, and the digitalization of public services nationwide, among other endeavors.

Regarding his personal aspirations for the future, Dr. Bawumia outlined his visionary plans that he aims to execute if elected as President. Bawumia affirmed his commitment to implementing comprehensive and inclusive policies that benefit all citizens across the nation.

Included in this approach are measures to address various needs and challenges. Bawumia highlighted his commitment to enhancing agriculture through increased investment in modern farming techniques.

He emphasized that approximately 60% of the Ghanaian population engages in farming, underscoring the potential for positive national impact with proper prioritization and support for the agricultural sector.

Dr. Bawumia outlined his strategy to decrease the cost of living by shifting away from the country’s heavy dependence on gas for electricity in favor of solar power, a move he predicts will result in a 50% reduction in electricity expenses. Additionally, he discussed his goal of providing digital skills training to approximately 1 million young people to facilitate the creation of digital employment opportunities, both domestically and internationally.
