Video: Burkina Faso’s Leader, Ibrahim Traoré, captured attention during Mahama’s swearing-in ceremony

The inauguration of President John Dramani Mahama marked a significant and eagerly awaited occasion, capturing the interest of both domestic and global observers.

Prominent attendees included African leaders like Nigerian President Bola Tinubu and Burkina Faso’s President Ibrahim Traoré, along with 24 ambassadors and a select group of notable guests.

The event was filled with a blend of cheers and clapping as Speaker Alban Bagbin invited several dignitaries to offer their best wishes to the newly sworn-in President.

Nonetheless, it was the announcement of Burkina Faso’s military chief Ibrahim Traoré that truly excited the audience at the Black Star Square, resulting in an outburst of happiness and celebration.

Ibrahim Traoré, a military officer from Burkina Faso, has held the leadership since the coup on September 20, 2022, which removed interim president Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba from power.

At just 34 years old, Traoré holds the title of the youngest leader in Africa.
