NPP is projected to secure 99 positions across 6 Regions – Ayew Afriyie

With merely a day remaining until Ghana’s significant presidential and parliamentary elections, the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is radiating confidence and enthusiasm.

The Middle-Belt Campaign Coordinator for the Vice President and NPP presidential candidate, Hon. Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie, has confidently foretold a strong performance in the middle belt regions, estimating a total of 99 parliamentary seats, which includes 15 new constituencies.

Addressing the media in Kumasi during the peak of the NPP’s campaign in the middle belt area, the optimistic Effiduase-Asokore MP underscored the party’s readiness for a conclusive victory. “We have established all the essential frameworks necessary to achieve a significant triumph in both the presidential and parliamentary contests,” he remarked.

Hon. Ayew Afriyie elaborated on the party’s tactics, unveiling five key factors fueling their confidence in the middle belt.

Among these is the objective of winning pivotal constituencies, such as the Tain Constituency, home to opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Chairman, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah.

“We can assert without hesitation that following an extensive and thorough campaign throughout all six regions, the NPP is poised to capture a total of 99 seats across Ashanti, Eastern, Bono East, Ahafo, Western North, and Eastern Regions,” Hon. Ayew Afriyie forecasted.

Recognizing the obstacles encountered during the campaign, Hon. Ayew Afriyie praised the party’s flagbearer, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, alongside his committed campaign team for their tenacity and diligence.

The MP further anticipated that the NPP would garner over 51% of the overall votes, emphasizing the party’s attractiveness in the middle belt.

He credited this success to the NPP’s “robust and proven policies and initiatives,” which, he contended, resonate more strongly with Ghanaians in comparison to the opposition’s campaign.

Reassuring voters regarding their safety, Hon. Ayew Afriyie conveyed confidence in the security measures established for the elections.

“We wish to reassure all Ghanaians, particularly voters in the six regions within the middle belt zone that they need not worry, as their safety is completely guaranteed; they should go to their polling places and cast their votes for the NPP and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia without fear or intimidation.”
