We have Beneficial Policies For Ghanaians – NPP

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) claims it has effective policies to move Ghana forward. They are urging Ghanaians to vote for their flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is committed to offering innovative solutions to boost economic growth.

At a press conference held in Accra yesterday, the NPP Director of Communications, Richard Ahiagbah, highlighted that the ruling party’s manifesto for the upcoming elections includes progressive strategies aimed at revitalizing the economy.

Ahiagbah made these remarks as he evaluated the manifesto recommendations put forth by the NPP’s flagbearer, Dr. Bawumia. Mahamudu Bawumia emphasized that the party’s campaign has always prioritized economic solutions such as job creation, comprehensive tax reforms, and digitalization.

Ahiagbah pointed out that the NPP is implementing extensive policies to improve the economy, while the NDC and John Mahama focus on criticism and unclear policies. This approach does not help Ghanaians make informed decisions for the December 7 elections. He also noted that under President Akufo-Addo, the Ghanaian economy has grown by around US$20 billion, from US$56 billion in 2016 to US$76 billion by December 2023.

The NPP Communications Director emphasized these points. Bawumia aims to build upon President Akufo-Addo’s successful policies and enhance programs in sectors like agriculture and mining. If elected, he plans to continue these initiatives for the betterment of the country. Bawumia plans to grant a tax amnesty to both individuals and businesses in Ghana.

This means that those who haven’t filed taxes in previous years will not have to pay interest or penalties. This allows them to begin the new year with a fresh start. Ahiagbah indicated that Dr. Bawumia, if elected President, would work to lower the cost of living by stabilizing prices and securing funding and guarantees from the Development Bank Ghana (DBG) and the Ghana Incentive-Based Risk-Sharing System for Agricultural Lending.

This goal would involve enhancing the production of basic foods, preserving important food items such as meat, poultry, and fish products, and stabilizing spare parts prices through the implementation of the “Flat Rate for All Importers” policy.

Ahiagbah emphasized that despite worldwide economic obstacles in the last eight years, the NPP, led by President Akufo-Addo, has generated approximately 2.3 million jobs. He is optimistic about Dr. Bawumia intends to generate more employment opportunities, offer training in digital skills, and support job growth by collaborating with the private sector, improving infrastructure, promoting industrialization, and investing in agribusiness.

He highlighted that under his leadership, a government led by Dr. Bawumia would prioritize these policy initiatives. Bawumia plans to focus on finishing land titling and registration, so property owners can use their assets as collateral to get funding for business growth.

Ahiagbah encouraged Ghanaians to cast their vote for Dr. Bawumia and the NPP plan to enact popular policy proposals to improve the economy. Voting on December 7 will determine the economic direction of the country. Bawumia and the NPP provide appropriate policy solutions to enhance growth and prosperity for Ghanaians,” he concluded.
