We were confident in Trump’s victory because his policies match our own – Baba Jamal
Former Member of Parliament for Akwatia, Baba Jamal, stated that Donald Trump is currently leading in the ongoing U.S. presidential election. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) was not surprised by the outcome of the presidential election. They believed that Trump would win because of their common values and policies with the U.S. presidential candidate.
Speaking on Okay FM on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, Jamal explained that Trump’s campaign policies align with those of the NDC and its presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama.
He highlighted shared positions on sensitive topics like abortion and same-sex marriage.
“We knew Trump was going to win because, when you listen to his policies, you will see they mirror those we [NDC] have promoted here in Ghana,” Baba Jamal stated. Trump opposes abortion and homosexuality, which are also issues that our candidate opposes. In contrast to the NPP, the NDC remains steadfast in our position, not leaning towards accepting some of these ideas.
Jamal believes that Trump’s expected win reflects American conservative values being embraced, and he suggests that this sentiment could also be seen in Ghana.
He stated, “Americans have demonstrated that ‘sankofa’ (a return to roots) is beneficial, and this is exactly what we aim to mirror in our December elections.”
With Trump leading, Jamal confidently predicts that Ghana’s election could yield similar outcomes, forecasting a potential “victory overflow.”
Regarding the U.S.,… Political campaigns bring about change and transformation in society. They give citizens the opportunity to choose their leaders and voice their opinions on important issues. Through elections, individuals can participate in the democratic process and shape the future of their country.
The outcome of elections determines who will be in power and make decisions that impact the lives of millions. It is essential for citizens to be informed and engaged during elections to ensure that their voices are heard and their interests are represented.
According to media outlets such as CNN, Fox News, and the BBC, President Donald Trump has been forecasted to win the presidential election on November 5, 2024, defeating Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump has taken a significant lead following his wins in crucial battleground states like Pennsylvania and Georgia.
