Social media users ‘criticize ’ GIHOC MD over claim that ‘no sensible person’ is in the NDC
Certain individuals on social media are criticizing Maxwell Kofi Jumah, the Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited, for remarks he made on Angel FM in Kumasi on October 16, 2024.
In his interview, Jumah expressed the view that individuals who defect from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to the opposition, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), are those who lack sound judgment.
In contrast, he asserted that individuals with wisdom are those who align themselves with the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He also made the accusation that Alan Kyerematen, a former NPP member running as an independent candidate in the 2024 elections, is reportedly receiving backing from the NDC and its Presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama.
“I have mentioned this previously, despite potential disapproval, but I will reiterate,” he added. “If you defect from the NPP and lose your rationality, you switch to the NDC.” “If you become enlightened in the NDC, you will join the NPP,” he stated.
He added, “Alan should consider seeking therapy.” “If he recovers his consciousness, he will return.”
“Ghanaians have become more astute.” John Mahama is firmly supporting Alan, and I say this confidently. He is supporting Alan. The goal is for Alan to diminish the vote count in the Ashanti Region. He initially began his journey in Ejisu and has now enlisted the participation of a young individual named Chedder to compete. “All of these projects are funded by the NDC.”
After the interview was posted on social media, Facebook users, in particular, expressed their disapproval and criticized the Managing Director for his comments.
“Kofi Ghana has never made any sensible statements in his lifetime, so this is not surprising,” one user commented.
“And who gave you the impression that you are sensible? Alan is much more competent than you, Mr. [Last Name].” One individual remarked, “We must address mental health with seriousness in this nation. How could a host allow such statements to be made?”
Another added, “Yandam will not work this time and will resort to violence.” An individual stated, “Elderly men, when given a platform, should speak words of wisdom, not foolishness.” Concern was expressed about the man’s behavior, questioning the motivation behind his actions in the context of politics.
