Prez Akufo-Addo: Agenda 111 will be discarded if NDC takes charge
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is worried that the Agenda 111 hospital projects may face challenges if the National Democratic Congress (NDC) comes back into power.
He pointed out that the NDC had criticized the initiative in the past. He cautioned that important projects like Agenda 111 could be neglected if Ghanaians elect former President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC in the next elections. The president restated his dedication to ensuring that some Agenda 111 projects are completed before his term concludes.
During a meeting with professional groups in the Ashanti Region on Sunday, November 25, President Akufo-Addo advised voters to think about the advances made under his leadership and the potential drawbacks of a change in government. He said, “Before I step down on January 7, 2025, I will have finished and unveiled some of them.”
The Komfo Anokye Maternity and Children’s Hospital is currently at 68 percent completion after being transferred to the Sewua Infectious Disease Centre for use. After the completion of Asante Akyim District Hospital and Kumawu District Hospital, the people of Ashanti should carefully consider their options for December 7, given the significance of these projects. I believe certain individuals will enter office and halt many of these projects.
The Agenda 111 is not in their hearts, those who are incomplete will remain incomplete, we have witnessed this previously, let us not repeat that error this time.
