Pardon Asante Bediatuo and support Dr. Bawumia – Maurice Ampaw
Ghanaian lawyer Maurice Ampaw fervently urges members of the ruling New Patriotic Party to pardon Asante Bediatuo and support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is a candidate in the upcoming elections. During a recent appearance on Wontumi TV, Ampaw discussed the increasing dissatisfaction within the party, with some members stating their intention not to vote due to grievances against Bediatuo and other close associates of President Nana Akufo-Addo.
Ampaw stated that he had received reliable information about a group within the NPP who were deeply upset by the behavior and statements of Asante Bediatuo and Ken Ofori-Atta, the former Finance Minister, during his televised address. Ampaw stated that members took an oath not to vote, potentially leading to a lack of unity within the party and affecting Dr. [Candidate’s name] election prospects.
Bawumia, Asante Bediatuo, and Ken Ofori-Atta may have made decisions or remarks that caused you pain. I implore all NPP members to forgive them, as urged by Ampaw with heartfelt emotion. He explained that President Akufo-Addo had taken steps to address the situation by sending Asante Bediatuo on a diplomatic assignment and relieving Ken Ofori-Atta of his ministerial roles.
These actions were aimed at repairing the division within the party. Ampaw called on party members to look ahead and rally behind Dr. Akufo-Addo. Bawumia is emerging as the probable future leader of the NPP.
He elaborated that the administration under Bawumia would mark a new chapter, free from the influence of past leaders. In a mere two months, the tenure of Asante Bediatuo will conclude, ushering in Dr. [Name]. Bawumia’s tenure necessitates the unwavering support of all NPP constituents for his success.
“Leave Asante Bediatuo and Ken Ofori-Atta to be handled by God; your current task is to uphold party unity and strength,” he emphasized. The timing of Maurice Ampaw’s plea as the NPP approaches elections is fitting. The communication promoting forgiveness and unity serves as a reminder to them that internal conflicts could lead to failure, but can be resolved through reconciliation.
As the party faces these obstacles, the crucial question arises: will its members answer the call and unite in support of Bawumia for a more robust NPP?
