Okuapehene’s wife seen slapping security guard in anger over bullets fired at Odwira festival
A young woman, said to be the traditional wife of Oseadeyo Kwasi Akuffo III, an Omanhene of Akuapem Traditional Area, slapped a man who was suspected of firing indiscriminate shots during a procession at the ongoing Odwira festival in the Eastern Region.
The incident is said to have occurred when participants sent food from Okuapehene to Nsolem as part of traditional rituals during the festival.
In a video circulating online, the woman can be seen confronting a man holding two pistols. Without any apparent provocation, she punched him in the face.
After the slap, she was filmed making a warning gesture with her hands to the man.
Traditional leaders who were at the scene quickly intervened and confronted the woman to calm her down.
She was eventually taken away with food in hand.
The footage went viral on social media platforms following the unnecessary firing of gunmen during today’s procession to send food for Okuapekhene to Nsorem.”
