NDC MPs criticized the location where MPs turned the Chamber into a marching ground
Former Central Regional Minister, Kwamena Duncan strongly criticized the NDC caucus in Parliament for their behavior during a session on Tuesday, October 22.
The NDC members occupied the majority side of the chamber after the Speaker declared four seats vacant, while the NPP caucus chose to boycott the session.
Despite a stay order from the Supreme Court on the Speaker’s declaration, the NDC MPs continue to assert their Majority status in Parliament and have refused to comply with the court ruling. During the NPP caucus’s absence, the NDC members marched on the House floor.
Speaking on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show, Kwamena Duncan chastised the NDC caucus for what he deemed to be unparliamentary conduct. He expressed concern about the possibility of the NDC members marching to the Supreme Court in the future.
When will the time come for them to gather at Jubilee House and transform it into a parade ground? Can you name any other Parliament where elected officials have used the chamber as a parade ground?”
He criticized the NDC MPs. The ex-Minister also scolded them for defying the Supreme Court, stating “if faith in the justice system falters, Ghana is at risk.” He emphasized the importance of enforcing the Supreme Court’s orders or declarations.
