Mahama has been cautious when choosing his cabinet members – Appiah Kubi
The previous Member of Parliament for Asante Akim North, Andy Appiah-Kubi, has conveyed his approval regarding President John Mahama’s selections for major cabinet roles, including those in the Finance Ministry, the Attorney General’s Office, and the Energy Ministry.
Mr. Appiah-Kubi stated that President Mahama has shown significant thoughtfulness and carefulness in his choices for ministers. While speaking on JoyNews’ Upfront on Thursday, January 9, he applauded the President for focusing on qualifications in his selections, emphasizing that this is what is anticipated from any leader.
“I am quite pleased that the President has been meticulous in his ministerial selections thus far. I wish to praise him for emphasizing skill, honesty, and expertise,” he remarked.
His comments came after President Mahama put forward Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson as the designated Finance Minister, John Abdulai Jinapor as the designated Energy Minister, and Dominic Akuritinga Ayine as the designated Attorney General and Minister of Justice.
All the appointed nominees previously held deputy positions in the same roles during the last NDC administration.
Mr. Appiah-Kubi characterized the nominees as exceptionally qualified individuals, expressing confidence that they are the ideal selections for their respective departments.
