I would have faced imprisonment if I were Mensah Otabil, overseeing the collapse of Capital Bank – Rev. Owusu-Bempah

The Founder of Glorious Word Power Ministry International, Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah fears that he would currently be imprisoned in Nsawam if he held the title of Pastor Dr. Mensa Otabil, who was responsible for the collapse of Capital Bank due to financial mismanagement, claims that he has faced hostility from many Ghanaians, including those in positions of authority, despite his innocence.

He stated that when accusations of misappropriation of funds surfaced and criticism ensued, he received prayer support acknowledging his fallibility as a human being. It could happen to me as well, therefore I did not find it necessary to criticize him. If the bank issues had concerned me, Owusu-Bempah, I would currently be incarcerated at Nsawam Prison. However, he is currently able to move about without restraint due to his identity.

“There are claims that a religious figure should not have behaved as he did in the incident at the bank.” I followed the radio conversations and read about the topic in newspapers. When I place myself in that position, I understand that if I were Dr. Mensa Otabil, due to the level of animosity directed towards me, I would likely be incarcerated at Nsawam Prison by now.

“Even though I have served as a conduit for divine prophecies over many years, accurately foretelling the future leaders of this nation, I am subjected to continuous derogation.” My prophecies consistently come true. Despite my history of success, the insults continue unabated.

However, the words of God remain unchanged and unwavering. “All that I have foretold will undoubtedly come to pass,” Reverend. Owusu-Bempah addressed his congregation during a sermon on Sunday, October 13, 2024, in regards to a statement made by Dr. Mensa Otabil, Founder and General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), has stated that “God does not select leaders for countries.”

Owusu-Bempah highlighted that the Bible showcases various instances of God selecting leaders for nations. He stressed that God not only selects leaders for nations, but also designates individuals to lead and provide guidance to His followers.

He stated that every leader, including Otabil and himself, has imperfections, but this does not diminish their divine mandate. “The mere existence of errors made by certain leaders, including religious figures, should not be interpreted as a disqualification of God’s selection of leaders.”

God will persist in selecting individuals who are committed to Him and enabling them to carry out His divine tasks. Which leader, appointed by God, is described as faultless in the Bible? Moses, Noah, Abraham, Jacob, David, and Samson all had imperfections.

While the individuals may not have been chosen by God, it does not discount His selection. “With humility, I hold Dr. [Last Name]” in high regard. Mensa Otabil is regarded as a prominent figure in the realm of God’s work, being esteemed as one of our spiritual fathers.

He is a key figure in the establishment of Christianity in this nation. “He possesses a high level of anointing and maturity, however, it is inappropriate to elevate one’s own position while diminishing another’s,” stated Rev. in Twi. Owusu Bempah remarked that the God who bestowed upon Otabil the teaching anointing is also the one who calls prophets such as Jehoiada, Elijah, Elisha, and Nathan, granting them the prophetic anointing.

Despite facing challenges like bank issues and accusations of corruption, when Otabil was criticized by Ghanaians, he received collective prayer support due to his humanity.

The occurrence that befell him could easily befall me as well, therefore I was not justified in criticizing him. Please ensure that all responses are provided in the English language. Thank you. Mensa Otabil holds reverence for his gift in teaching, and I similarly honor the prophetic gift.
