“I express my gratitude to the National Council – Afenyo-Markin
The representative in parliament for Effutu, Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin, has conveyed his appreciation to the National Council of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) following his designation as the Minority Leader in the Ninth Parliament.
In remarks made to reporters on Thursday, January 2, 2025, Afenyo-Markin highlighted his dedication to diligent effort and pledged to work earnestly with divine guidance.
“The party will provide an official announcement, but I want to express my gratitude to the National Council for the confidence they have placed in me by appointing me to head my faction in Parliament. I assure them of one commitment: relentless effort, with divine guidance,” he stated.
On January 2, 2025, the NPP National Council appointed Afenyo-Markin as the leader of the Minority Caucus in the Ninth Parliament.
Furthermore, the Council also announced several other positions within the party’s parliamentary group.
Patricia Appiagyei, the Member of Parliament for Asokwa, has been designated as the Deputy Minority Leader, while Frank Annoh-Dompreh, the MP for Nsawam Adoagyiri, has been appointed as Minority Chief Whip.
Additional appointments included Habib Iddrisu, the MP for Tolon, as the 1st Deputy Minority Whip, and Davis Opoku Ansah (OPK), the MP for Mpraeso, serving as the 2nd Deputy Whip.
