Gabby Otchere-Darko responds to the conflict in Parliament

Gabby Otchere-Darko, a prominent member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has addressed the recent power struggle in Parliament.

He has urged Members of Parliament from both the NPP and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to focus on communicating their plans to voters, such as job creation, cost of living reduction, infrastructure improvement, health and education accessibility, and creating a more stable economy for business decisions in the lead up to the 2024 general elections.

Otchere-Darko emphasized that Ghanaians prioritize policy substance over theatrical performances in Parliament, especially as the elections draw near, as these performances do not contribute to the continuous operation of factories. Regarding the ongoing dispute over seating arrangements between the NPP and NDC legislators, Mr. Otchere-Darko did not comment further.

Otchere-Darko praised Mr. [Last Name]. Afenyo Markin, the Majority Leader, was commended for his leadership, maturity, patriotism, and wisdom.

He received praise for his outstanding qualities. Afenyo Markin has decided to avoid unnecessary potential confrontations by refraining from participating in the dispute over seating arrangements in Parliament following the NDC’s intention to disregard the Supreme Court’s ruling on the matter.

He stated on Peace FM that NPP MPs have no interest in engaging in such a spectacle and will not be present in Parliament until the Speaker confirms adherence to the Supreme Court directive regarding the vacant seats of certain MPs.

Afenyo refuses to engage in confrontation with the Minority group, stating “I won’t contribute to that theatrical display.” With several weeks left until Dec 7, there is no need for unnecessary drama.

It is advised that political parties concentrate on convincing undecided voters on their plans to address job creation, cost of living, infrastructure improvements, healthcare and education accessibility, and enhancing economic stability for businesses.

The theatrics are not effective in maintaining continuous operation of factory plants. In a social media post, he stated, “Except possibly drinking establishments.”
