Election 2024: Over 200 professionals hired by EC to assist in compiling results

The Electoral Commission (EC) is dedicated to ensuring a flawless electoral process to maintain confidence in democracy. As part of efforts to improve efficiency, the EC has introduced a strategic hiring program, employing more than 200 experts in mathematics, statistics, and other relevant quantitative fields. This action seeks to enhance the trustworthiness and dependability of the election outcomes.

During a media interview on Tuesday, November 5, Dr. Eric Bossman Asare, the Deputy Chairperson of the EC, highlighted the Commission’s efforts, stressing the importance of openness and precision in the forthcoming elections.

Asare emphasized the EC’s commitment to avoiding any errors, no matter how small, that could affect public trust. He pointed out that the new experts hired have strong analytical abilities to aid in accurate data gathering, vote counting, and statistical analysis, crucial for a reliable electoral system.

The Commission has hired more than 280,000 individuals to participate in this election. We have enlisted individuals who will aid in compiling data.

“These individuals have expertise in mathematics, actuarial science, and statistics, and will assist with quantitative methods. Therefore, they will support the returning officers at the constituency level.
