Buduburam disaster: A total of 554 houses, shops, and nine cars were devastated
A calamity in Gomoa Buduburam last week resulted in the destruction of 554 houses, shops, and nine cars.
Three fatalities and 47 injuries were reported after a contractor working on the Kasoa-Winneba highway detonated a rock, causing the tragic incident. Following the disaster, operations were temporarily suspended as a five-member committee, established by Central Regional Minister Justina Marigold Assan, compiled a list of affected individuals and damaged items.
Riddims Ghana observed the contractor resuming work under police protection to prevent potential retaliation during a visit to the site on Wednesday, October 23.
Gomoa East NADMO Director Robert Hackman confirmed the destruction of 554 houses, shops, and nine vehicles during an interview with Riddims Ghana.
Hackman also noted that NADMO is taking steps to avert another disaster, with the Police conducting regular patrols at the construction site to maintain security and prevent additional occurrences.
