Asiedu Nketiah alleges government of swaying voters with cash incentives
Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has increased his criticism of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP). He accuses the government of using financial incentives and other benefits to influence voters instead of focusing on important development projects.
During his three-day Retail Campaign, Asiedu Nketiah addressed party members in Amoakokrom, Ahafo Ano South-East Constituency, Ashanti Region. He argued that this approach by the NPP undermines public trust and takes away resources from essential infrastructure and social programs that could benefit communities.
He stressed that these tactics not only reduce the electorate’s confidence in the ruling party but also hinder sustainable development efforts that could improve entire communities. Asiedu Nketiah encouraged NDC supporters and community members to vote against the NPP in the upcoming December elections.
He called for a large voter turnout to remove the ruling party, stating that the NDC is dedicated to genuine development and meeting the real needs of the people. Asiedu Nketiah highlighted that the NPP government only provides support for infrastructure projects and other benefits when elections are approaching in the villages. They ignore our issues post-elections.
“They divide up various perks.” I inquire, what impact will these have on you after four years? In contrast, we initiate initiatives that benefit everyone. You will need nothing from us when you can provide for yourselves.
