LIVE STREAMING: Akufo-Addo delivers final SONA

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is set to deliver his final State of the Union Address (SONA) in Parliament before he leaves office.

According to Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution, the State of the Union Address gives the outgoing President an opportunity to present a detailed report on the state of the country.

The event will also mark the last session of the Eighth Parliament of the Fourth Republic which will be dissolved on Monday, January 6, 2025.

Government representatives including Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, First Lady Samira Bawumia, Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin, MPs and other prominent dignitaries are already seated in Parliament waiting for the President’s address.

Other dignitaries in attendance include Chief of Staff Gen. Oppong Peprah, Inspector General of Police George Akufo-Dampare and British High Commissioner Harriet Thompson.
