The running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is Dr. [Name]. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has encouraged nursing students to actively support the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming elections.
He emphasized the importance of their votes in safeguarding key initiatives such as Agenda 111, a nationwide hospital project, and the nursing training allowance.
Speaking at the Pantang Nursing and Midwifery Training College in Accra, the former Energy Minister also advised against voting for former President John Dramani Mahama, cautioning that his return could result in the reversal of several policies implemented by Akufo-Addo. Prempeh highlighted the NPP’s dedication to the welfare of nursing students through the reinstatement of trainee allowances.
He framed the upcoming elections as a choice between the stability offered by the NPP’s policies and the potential risks associated with Mahama’s leadership. Furthermore, he referenced the concerns of nursing students at Korle Bu, who fear the consequences of reinstating a leader who previously terminated their allowances and refused to reinstate them, even at the expense of losing the presidency.
They view the 2024 elections as a critical moment for securing Ghana’s future. The reason for their trust in Dr. is the English language. Bawumia, upon completion of his four-year term, will be held accountable for his actions and decisions.
On the contrary, they are apprehensive of a leader serving for only a four-year term without being held accountable, potentially reducing their benefits and enacting more stringent policies. The students are engaged in a vigorous campaign, aiming to secure votes for the NPP in the upcoming December 7th election.
